Press Release
Artifact Records is proud to present the debut EP by the
Mystery School Ensemble bringing you the freshest collection
of musical influences played by real musicians not DJ
operated machines.
"Further" features trumpet, sax, harmonic
flute all riding on top of a dense guitar bass and drums
rhythm section to shake out the cobwebs and set the scene
for the more linear ìUnknown Roadsî which introduces the
trumpet in the lead role framed by a steady background
from the rest of the band.
"Nicky's Theme" is the DJ friendly instrumental
version - the vocal version to be released soon- with
a truly laid back melody worthy of any smokers record
collection or after party chillout session, while "At
The Gates Of Dawn" wraps up the EP with a floating trip
that wraps you up in cotton wool and bubble wrap and posts
you to a relaxed and carefree dimension where the sounds
of the instruments dissolve into the atmosphere.
How would you descibe it?
...a blend of styles from frenetic jazz
fusion to ethereal lounge - something to tickle the sample
generation and turn people back on to music in its organic
form. These tunes evolve from recording live musicians
rather than sampling dead ones.
