Roxana Pope

Her early music roots lie in her native Persian folk singing, and her grandfather's old jazz records. Her musical journeys have led her to Africa, Republic of Georgia, Former Yugoslavia and across Europe where she has performed and recorded with many artists, weaving her unique vocal tapestry.

Most recently she has recorded and with performed with

  • Myrgiya (Sony) - Delhi's foremost fusion and hip hop band winners of Herald Angel award at Edinburgh Festival
  • Sarajevo's dance music guru's Adi Lukovac and Ornamenti (she appears on their latest album - Fluid / Howie B and toured with them)
  • she performed live with Brooklyn's bad boy MosDef in Holland.

In 2002 she was won an award to go back to Iran with a group of British musicians. They are working with Iranian musicians a to create a new and original cross collaborations. It was the first Anglo-Persian creative collaboration since the Iranian Islamic Revolution 1979.

Her awards include the Herald Angel and Two Scotsman Fringe First.
